17 cadres of Chand released on bail, date

The Sindhupalchowk District Court has released 17 cadres of Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN including district committee member Ranjit Singh Thakuri. A single bench of district Justice Tika Ram Acharya has released Thakuri of Barhabise on a bail of Rs 25,000, 13 others for Rs 6,000 each, and Ravita Adhikari, Hira Khatri and Sabita Shrestha on date, according to registrar at the court Lekh Nath Paudel. The 17 persons, including four women, were arrested after a raid at 2 am on March 2 while they were sleeping at a house in Karkitar of Chautara Sangachowkgadi municipality 10. SP Mukunda Marasini had said documents for military training, letterheads for seeking donation, and leaflets and pamphlets against the state were confiscated from them. The district attorney's office had lodged cases against the 17 hailing from different districts.
