Don't give donation to Chand's group of looters: PM tells local bodies

Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli has instructed the local bodies to not provide donation to the Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN. Addressing the annual meeting of Nepal Municipality Association a day after the government banned activities of Chand-led party on Tuesday, he urged the mayors to not give donation to Chand's party. "Don't be scared and do not give donation to the looters," he urged stating that he has heard about the people's representatives at the local level getting letters from the Maoists demanding donations. The Cabinet meeting on Tuesday banned activities of Chand-led CPN after recent rise in destructive activities and extortion drive by the party. PM Oli said the government does not tolerate destructive activities and explained that the decision has been taken to control such activities as per the law. "The road is open for everyone to carry out political activities with political culture and behavior. But one cannot run the industry of plunder by using the toll of terror," he stated.
