The Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) has expressed sorrow over the demise of Province-5's Province Assembly member Uttar Kumar Oli.
In a statement issued Friday, CPN general secretary Bishnu Prasad Poudel paid tribute to the late Oli, expressing sorrow over his demise. The province legislator had passed away at 1 am today in course of treatment at Mediciti Hospital, Lalitpur.
Oli met with an accident at 4 pm at Chisapani of Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City-3, Dang district on February 7 while returning to his home from Butwal. He was brought to Kathmandu for treatment.
He was elected to the Province-5 provincial assembly from Dang constituency in the Province Legislature elections held in late 2017.
Oli, who started his political career as a leader of the All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU) later became the district committee member of the then CPN-UML.
