The secretariat meeting of ruling CPN has started at the prime minister's official residence in Baluwatar Monday morning. The meeting will review party unification and performance of the government.
The party's standing committee had formed a task force to prepare organizational framework for unification. But the task force has submitted a report to the secretariat, instead of the standing committee, including the issues that have been agreed upon and those that have not been. The meeting will also discuss on that report.
There are still separate organizations of the then CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center) at the district level. Unification of sister organizations have also not moved forward.
The meeting will also review the government's performance in the one year. CPN leaders in informal exchanges with the media have been saying that there may be change of a few ministers in the name of injecting pace into the government's performance.
The party has not convened a single central committee meeting in the nine months after its unification.
