CM Raut dismisses incident of minister slapping secretary: Did you see him beat? Accuses media of making a mountain out of a molehill

Chief Minister (CM) of Province 2 Lal Babu Raut has dismissed the incident of Minister for Financial Affairs and Planning Bijay Yadav beating a secretary at another ministry on Sunday and accused the media of making a mountain out of a molehill. “Have you seen the minister beat?” CM Raut fumed when Setopati asked what action he will take against the offending minister. “Don’t make a mountain out of a molehill. The issue has already been resolved. The secretary himself has said nothing happened.” Secretary at the Ministry of Industry, Forest, Environment and Tourism Bidyananda Jha has claimed Minister Yadav summoned him to the minister's office on Sunday and slapped him. He added that Minister Yadav beat him for not selecting the minister's non-governmental organization (NGO) for an entrepreneurship program for poverty alleviation under the conditional grant given by the federal government. CM Raut refused to answer how the incident will affect the morale of staffers in the province but assured the incident will be probed. “We will form a probe committee.”
