Civil servants of accounting group have started agitation accusing the government of discrimination in approval of positions.
Staffers of the group are working with black armbands at the main administrative center of the country Singha Durbar on Monday. "More positions for accounting group have been created at the provincial and local levels. But enough positions have not been kept at the center. We have, therefore, donned black armbands on duty," staffer Ishwori Prasad Dhakal told Setopati.
They are demanding that the unnecessary positions of accounting group be adjusted at the federal level.
Spokesperson at the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration Suresh Adhikari claimed ignorance about the staffers wearing black armbands and added the ministry is holding dialogue with the agitating staffers.
Staffers had earlier picketed the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration inside the Singha Durbar protesting against the staffer integration ordinance brought by the government.
