Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli has sought one week to address the demands of Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RJP).
Talking with the RJP leaders including coordinator of the chairman council Rajendra Mahato, PM Oli has said he could not fulfill the demands despite wishing to do so.
"We sought the government position on swearing in of Resham Chaudhary who was elected to the House of Representatives (HoR), cases against those involved in agitation, and release of prisoners," Mahato told Setopati after the meeting at the PM’s official residence in Baluwatar Tuesday morning. "PM asked for seven days saying he will take decision after holding discussions. We will wait for his response."
The Madhes-based party had supported the Oli government after Oli gave assurances about constitution amendment. RJP has lately been threatening to withdraw the support pointing that the constitution has not been amended as promised.
