The Supreme Court (SC) has ordered the government to not implement the decision to sack general manager of Gorkhapatra Corporation Basanta Prakash Upadhyaya for the second time in less than six months.
A bench of Justice Ishwor Khatiwada on Wednesday has issued an interim order instructing the government to not implement the decision to sack Upadhyaya taken by the Cabinet on Sunday.
The KP Sharma Oli government earlier in July had revoked all decisions taken by the previous Sher Bahadur Deuba government after the code of conduct for general election had come into force. Upadhyaya, who was appointed by the Deuba government, was also removed as a result.
He had then moved the SC against the decision and returned to duty after the Apex Court ordered the government to not implement that decision.
The Cabinet meeting on Sunday again dismissed him. The SC hearing the writ petition filed against the decision has once again instructed the government to not implement the decision immediately.
