Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizen Thammaya Thapa has said that the Constitution has stressed on women empowerment by giving high importance to women welfare.
Minister Thapa said so while presenting Sixth Periodic Report of Nepal in the 71st meeting of the committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women in Geneva on Tuesday.
She said that the government has initiated the step for the protection and promotion of women rights and has been playing effective role to empower them.
Minister Thapa said that the Constitution has made the progressive provision for women upliftment and empowerment, according to the Nepali Mission to the United Nations Office and other International Organizations in Geneva.
