Nepali Congress (NC) general secretary Dr Shashanka Koirala has underlined the need of unity within the party.
Speaking at an inaugural session of the province-level meeting and training of Nepal Civil Service Employees' Union here Friday, he recalled the party's defeat in the recent elections which according to him were the results of intra-party conflict.
He took a time to say that the party would not remain mum if rights of civil servants were curtailed.
Remembering his father and Congress veteran leader BP Koirala as a disciplined, moral, dedicated and loving leader, he said the party's historic success in the past was due to the contributions of such leader. He further underlined the need of such leadership in the party at present.
NC parliamentary leader of Province 1 Rajib Koirala acknowledged important role of civil servants in country's political changes.
Civil service employees associated with various NC affiliated unions from the province are taking the two-day training.
