Province 7 named Far West, Godavari capital

Province 7 has been named Far West and Godavari of Kailali its capital. The provincial assembly meeting on Friday has endorsed the name and capital of the province with two-third majority. Coordinator of the committee formed to collect suggestions about the name and capital Tara Lam Tamang proposed the name and capital in the meeting. The proposal supported by lawmakers Shanti Nepali and Birman Chaudhary was passed with two-third majority by the assembly. A total of 38 lawmakers voted in favor of the proposal, according to lawmaker Tamang, while 12 lawmakers of the main opposition party Nepali Congress (NC) and two of Rastriya Janata Party Nepal did not take part in the voting process. The two parties opposed the proposal saying the capital is not accessible.
