Mahendra Bahadur Shahi set to be Province 6 CM

Former energy minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi looks set to become chief minister (CM) of Province 6. Former home ministers and CPN (Maoist Center) leaders Shakti Bahadur Basnet and Janardan Sharma had reached Surkhet to help selection of CM after Naresh Bhandari also claimed for the post. Basnet, Sharma and the party's coordinator in the province Maya Prasad Sharma have reportedly decided to make Shahi the CM. "There was just an informal discussion. The party's meeting tomorrow will make final announcement," Shahi told Setoapti. Maoist Center and CPN-UML have decided to share CMs in the six provinces where the left alliance has majority. UML has got CMs in Province 1, 3, 4 and 5, and Maoist Center in Province 6 and 7.
