Big buses will be operated along Gongabu-Sinamangal route from August 10, replacing three-wheelers. Digo Shahari Yatayat Private Limited is bringing 17 big buses into operation along the route.
These buses with 26 seats will ply along Airport, Sinamangal, Old Baneshwor, Maitidevi, Dillibazar, Ratnapark, Lainchaur, Samakhusi and New Buspark. Likewise, the buses will continue from New Buspark to Gongabu, Samakhusi, Golkopakha, Lainchaur, Jamal, Kamalpokhari, Gyaneshwor, Maitidevi, Old Buspark, Sinamangal and will reach Airport.
Secretary at Digo Shahari Yatayat Private Limited Lal Prasad Guragain informed that all preparations have been completed to bring these big buses into operation. The company on Monday conducted GPS and other technical tests to bring these buses into operation by Friday.
Guragain said at least 61 vehicles including microbuses and three-wheelers plying these routes will be replaced. Currently, 35 three-wheelers and 26 microbuses are being operated in two routes including Sinamangal-Sundhara and New Buspark-Sundhara. The buses will be brought into operation to merge both the routes.
With operation of the buses, commuters traveling these two routes will not have to board two different vehicles. A few microbuses and three-wheelers, however, will be still in operation, according to him.
"We are not able to replace all the small vehicles as the number of big buses is still insufficient," Guragain said, "All the three-wheelers will be replaced once sufficient number of buses are brought into operation."
