The ongoing 12th Palpa Festival and Trade Fair has so far made transactions worth over Rs 50 million.
According to Event economic management sub-committee coordinator Deepak Prasad Pandey, till the fifth day of the fair Monday, over 100,000 people visited it. Garments and hotel and restaurant business has so far dominated the fair organised by the Palpa Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The fair has showcased 400 stalls ranging from wooden crafts to agro products. The organizers have expected to welcome some 300,000 visitors till its concluding day with witnessing transactions worth Rs 100 million.
The festival kicked off on February 15 with the theme of "Agriculture, tourism, industry and trade in Palpa, abundant opportunities and possibilities" will go on until February 27, according to PCCI President Mohan Prasad Shrestha. A photo exhibition introducing the district is also one of the parts of the festival.
