Two bodies recovered after avalanche at Himlung Himal base camp in Manang

Kathmandu, Sept 27

Two bodies have been recovered from the avalanche that struck the base camp area of Himlung Himal in Narpa Bhumi Rural Municipality-5 of Manang district.

Police said that they had recovered the bodies of two people.

Search and rescue operations for those caught in the avalanche are continuing.

Nine climbers had gone to the area for an expedition, accompanied by 13 climbing support staff. Around 10 of them are currently missing. All of those missing are Nepali citizens.

Further details about the incident are awaited.
