Two bodies have been recovered from the tunnel of the Langtang Khola Hydropower Project in Rasuwa.
A team of the Nepal Army involved in the search and rescue operation inside the tunnel recovered the two bodies on Thursday, according to the project’s general manager, Bijay Mani Bhattarai.
On Wednesday, a team of seven to eight people, including hydro-mechanical engineers, entered the project's empty penstock pipe and reached approximately 150 meters inside.
The army recovered the bodies on Thursday through the same route.
Earlier, a government rescue team had attempted to enter through the tunnel's main passage.
However, the team was unable to proceed beyond approximately 100 meters because the tunnel was filled with rocks, soil, and sludge.
Following this, a team including technical personnel from the hydropower project was mobilized for the search and rescue operation.
General Manager Bhattarai said that the search operation is continuing.
A total of 25 people working at the 20-megawatt Langtang Khola Hydropower Project remain unaccounted for.
