Relief materials for flood victims arrive from India

Relief materials have arrived from India for people who lost their homes in the flood that struck the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa on Wednesday.

The relief materials were sent in coordination with the Gayatri Pariwar and cleared through the Belahiya Customs Office, according to the office’s chief, Harihar Paudel.

The supplies were transported in two cargo trucks and two smaller vehicles. They include clothing, blankets, tarpaulins, sleeping mats, cooking utensils, and candles.

According to Paudel, the shipment includes 2,200 sleeping mats, 1,005 blankets, 1,100 tarpaulins, 1,147 sets of clothing, and 152 saris.

The relief consignment also includes 6,288 sets of cooking utensils and 100 large packets of candles.

Paudel said that the relief supplies sent from India were cleared and dispatched after verifying the necessary documents.
