More than 800 rescued from flood-hit areas

Kathmandu, Aug 27

Security agencies have rescued more than 800 people from Rasuwa and other flood-affected areas.

According to the Nepal Army, more than 800 people were rescued from Thursday morning through the afternoon.

Among them, 602 people were rescued via air operations, including 50 foreign nationals.

Additionally, 200 people were rescued via ground operations.

A medical team including medical officers deployed from Birendra Hospital provided treatment to 338 injured persons at an emergency treatment center established in Trishuli.

The Nepal Army has deployed more than 4,200 personnel, using drones and military dogs in coordinated efforts to search for and rescue injured people, provide emergency medical treatment, and distribute relief supplies.

Army personnel have also been deployed to clear debris from the Prithvi Highway in Dhading and help reopen the road.
