Prime Minister Balen Shah has urged everyone to get involved in rescue, search, and relief efforts from their respective positions in the flood-affected areas of Rasuwa.
On Wednesday morning, a meeting of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority’s National Council was held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar.
During the meeting, PM Shah received a briefing from the Nepal Army regarding the damage caused by the flood in Rasuwa. Following the meeting, he issued directives to stakeholders on future steps and requested everyone to participate in rescue, search, and relief operations.
The flood in the Bhotekoshi River, originating from the Tibet region, has caused heavy damage in the Timure area. Authorities have warned that the flood could flow through the Bhotekoshi into the Trishuli River, potentially affecting riverside areas as far as Dhading and Chitwan.
Additional security personnel from the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, and Nepal Police have been mobilized for rescue and search operations in the affected areas.
Two army helicopters have reached Rasuwa to attempt rescues. Additionally, an emergency medical rescue team of the Nepal Army, accompanied by an MI-17 helicopter, has been dispatched to assist the district hospital in Trishuli.
Rescue teams have been deployed to the affected areas from the Dhunche and Trishuli barracks, while skilled disaster management personnel have been mobilized from the No. 6 Brigade Headquarters in Gajuri. Work is currently underway to collect details of the damage.
Similarly, the Armed Police Force reported that a large number of security personnel have been deployed to the affected areas from APF Nepal No. 19 Company Nuwakot, UN Peacekeeping Training Academy Kakani, Dhading Company, Disaster Management Base Adamghat, and No. 17 Battalion Chitwan.
