Police have held Gen Z activist Ajay Sodari and two others in custody for the past seven days.
Sodari, Prakash Bam, and Sunil BK are being kept at the Singha Durbar Police Circle after being detained from Maitighar Mandala on July 29.
According to Superintendent of Police Dan Bahadur Thapa of the District Police Range, Kathmandu, they are being investigated while in detention on charges of offenses against public peace.
"They are being investigated after the District Administration Office extended their custody period for three days for a second time," he said.
According to SP Thapa, their custody was first extended for five days and then for a second time by three days.
A police official told Setopati that they are accused of inciting victims of microfinance institutions to breach prohibited areas.
However, Supriya Nepali, another Gen Z activist from Sodari's team, said that they were detained while trying to make arrangements for microfinance victims during the nighttime.
"They had not done anything that would disturb public peace. Even so, police detained them and have kept them in custody for a week," she said.
