Habeas corpus petition filed in Supreme Court against Durga Prasai's arrest

A habeas corpus petition has been filed in the Supreme Court against the arrest of Durga Prasai.

The petition was filed on Monday by Prasai's wife, Uma.

She approached the Supreme Court, claiming that her husband was unlawfully arrested by police on Sunday night.

Prasai is currently in the custody of the District Police Range, Bhaktapur.

Police arrested him on the charge of committing an offense against public peace.

Prasai had announced a protest against the government during a press conference on Sunday afternoon.
