Another person injured in the Sunsari incident has died.
Deputy Inspector General Abi Narayan Kafle, spokesperson for Nepal Police, said that a young man who was injured by a gunshot during a clash in Kaptangunj, Dewanganj Rural Municipality-3 on Sunday night, died while undergoing treatment.
The deceased has been identified as 21-year-old Jai Prakash Mehta of Kaptangunj. He was receiving treatment at Neuro Hospital in Biratnagar. DIG Kafle said that he died on Thursday during treatment.
According to DIG Kafle, Mehta had sustained a gunshot wound to the stomach.
Eight other injured persons from the incident are currently undergoing treatment at various hospitals in Biratnagar.
The deceased, Mehta, worked as a City Safari (electric rickshaw) driver.
Earlier, 24-year-old Om Prakash Mehta of Dewanganj-3 had died in Sunday's incident.
With this, the death toll from the clash has reached two.
Curfew remains in force across various parts of Sunsari.
