Nepal Army mobilized after protestors break curfew in Sunsari

The Nepal Army has been mobilized after locals broke the curfew and began demonstrations in Dewangunj, Sunsari.

Tensions escalated in the area following a clash between two groups on Sunday night. One person was killed and nine others were hit by bullets in the incident.

Although the administration imposed a curfew following the incident, demonstrations began around noon on Monday in defiance of the order.

The Nepal Army was mobilized as the situation reportedly went out of control after protestors began vandalizing and setting fire to property.

Om Prakash Mehta, a local resident, was killed after being hit by police fire during a clash in Kaptangunj, Dewangunj Rural Municipality-3, on Sunday night.

The District Administration Office, Sunsari, imposed a curfew in five areas in and around Dewangunj from Monday morning.
