Mrigendra Nath Rimal, former chief executive officer of Nepal Micro Insurance Limited, has been arrested.
The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) arrested him from Siphal in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-7 on Thursday.
Senior Superintendent of Police Anupam Shumsher JBR, spokesperson for the CIB, said that Rimal was arrested in connection with a case involving businessman Deepak Bhatta, on charges under the Insurance Act, 2022, and the Securities Act, 2007.
He was absconding when the case was filed at the Kathmandu District Court on June 11. The case was filed with him listed as a fugitive.
He has now been arrested and produced before the court.
