Eight killed, 16 injured in Kavre bus accident

Kathmandu, June 12

Eight people have been killed in a passenger bus accident in Kavre.

The bus, bearing registration number Ba 3 Kha 8398, was traveling from Banepa to Bhakunde Besi when it crashed at Buchakot in Namobuddha Municipality-2 on Friday afternoon.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Rabin Bista of the District Police Office, Kavre, eight people died in the accident.

“Eight people died at the scene. So far, 16 injured passengers have been rescued and taken to Dhulikhel Hospital,” DSP Bista said.

He added that no additional victims have been found at the crash site. According to the driver, all passengers on board have been accounted for.

Police are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
