Former prime minister and former chief justice Sushila Karki is set to publish a new literary work titled “Mitty and the Wild Cat.”
According to Karki’s secretariat, she wrote the book during one of the most challenging periods while leading the interim government formed after the Gen Z movement.
"The nation was caught in a whirlpool of uncertainty while she was leading the interim government that was formed after the Gen Z movement displaced the then-government. Even during such a time, she maintained her imagination and creativity to produce this work, keeping child psychology at its center," Karki’s secretariat said.
Dedicated to her grandson, the book delivers a message of love, hope, and positivity. Through interactions among birds and animals, the novel conveys a message of empathy, cooperation, love, and interdependence, according to her secretariat.
Two of Karki’s previous works – “Nyaya” (memoir) and “Kara” (novel) – are among the best-selling books in the Nepali language. She is also the author of books on gender equality and feminism.
Karki said that the book is intended as a valuable gift for children around the world growing up in an age of confusion and uncertainty.
She added that the book will be available in the market soon.
