Kami Rita Sherpa has reached the summit of Mount Everest for the 32nd time.
He successfully summited Everest for the 32nd time at 10:12 a.m. on Sunday, setting a new record, according to the temporary office of the Department of Tourism at Everest Base Camp.
Sherpa broke his own previous record for the most Everest ascents. He had climbed Mount Everest for the 31st time in May of last year.
Sherpa’s first Everest summit was in 1994.
The Department of Tourism also congratulated Sherpa on his record ascent.
Similarly, Lhakpa Sherpa, widely known as the "Mountain Queen," climbed Mount Everest for the 11th time at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday.
She holds the world record for the most successful Everest ascents by a female climber.
Born in 1973 in Makalu-2, Sankhuwasabha, Lhakpa Sherpa has added another significant chapter to Nepal's mountaineering history.
