Rescue operations are underway for 476 passengers stranded on the BP Highway.
Chief District Officer of Kavrepalanchowk, Gopal Kumar Adhikari, said that efforts are ongoing to rescue the stranded travelers.
On Saturday night, flash floods in rivers including the Roshi swept away a temporary diversion on the BP Highway.
According to Adhikari, since the diversion was swept away by the river, passengers are being brought to Kathmandu via an alternative route. This path leads from Bhakundebesi in Kavre toward Temal Rural Municipality and then to Kaldhara, across from Mangaltar.
Adhikari said that stranded passengers are being transported to Kathmandu using 10 minibuses.
According to him, around 150 passengers on the BP Highway still need to be rescued, and vehicles have already been arranged for them.
He also said that the road is unlikely to reopen on Sunday, and advised vehicles traveling to Kathmandu via Sindhuli to use alternative routes.
