A case has been filed against Durga Prasai over his statement claiming that elections would not take place.
The District Government Attorney's Office, Kathmandu, filed the case on Tuesday based on remarks Prasai made prior to the election held on March 5.
Prasai was earlier arrested by police based on a letter from the Election Commission, but was later released.
At the time, he had said, “There will be no elections in this country until a Hindu state and the monarchy are reinstated.”
The Cyber Bureau of Nepal Police then launched an investigation against him.
A case was filed in court, accusing him of committing offenses under the Electronic Transactions Act 2006.
