Youth arrested on Amisha Parajuli’s complaint released on bail

A person arrested on the basis of a complaint filed by Amisha Parajuli has been released on a bail of Rs 15,000.

Parajuli, 20, had filed a complaint at the Cyber Bureau alleging that she was subjected to digital sexual violence while attending a protest organized by the CPN-UML.

Based on the complaint, police arrested 24-year-old Abhishek Chaudhary, a resident of Gujara Municipality-2 in Rautahat.

According to Superintendent of Police Dilip Kumar Giri of the Cyber Bureau, Chaudhary was released on bail on April 12.

"So far, one person had been arrested in connection with Amisha's complaint. He has been released on bail," SP Giri said. "We are requesting details of other individuals from Meta (Facebook)."

According to SP Giri, Meta had not provided any information regarding the requested details as of 5 p.m. on April 13.

Parajuli had filed the complaint seeking legal action against 19 different Facebook IDs.
