The death toll from the Ramechhap bus accident on Tuesday has risen to 10.
Deputy Inspector General Abi Narayan Kafle, central spokesperson for Nepal Police, confirmed that 10 people have now lost their lives after a passenger bus plunged into the Tamakoshi River at Triveni Ghat, Manthali Municipality-6, on Tuesday afternoon.
According to him, one person was found unconscious at the scene, and another injured individual is currently being transported to hospital.
Chief District Officer Shyam Krishna Thapa reported that eight people are in critical condition, three of whom have already been rushed to Dhulikhel Hospital.
The bus, with registration number Province 3-01-005 Kha 9975, veered off the road and fell into the Tamakoshi River earlier on Tuesday.
Rescue teams from the District Police Office, Ramechhap; the Armed Police Force (APF) Battalion, Ramechhap; and the Disaster Management Base in Khurkot were deployed to the site for search and rescue operations.
The driver of the bus is also among the injured.
The exact cause of the accident is yet to be determined.
