Journalist Dinesh Sitaula has passed away.
Grande Hospital announced death of Sitaula, 43, through a press release, stating that he passed at 12:45 Sunday afternoon. According to the hospital, an apnea test performed to evaluate brain function per medical protocols came back positive, indicating the absence of spontaneous respiration, leading to the official declaration of his death.
Sitaula suddenly collapsed around 9:45 Friday morning in Achham while accompanying Senior Leader of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).
When he was initially rushed to a hospital in Achham, his breathing had already stopped. He was subsequently airlifted to Kathmandu via a Nepal Army helicopter and admitted to Grande Hospital.
Upon arrival, a team of critical care and neurosurgery specialists placed him in the ICU due to a severe hemorrhage. Despite 48 hours of close monitoring, the hospital reported that there was no improvement in his neurological status and no signs of brain function recovery.
Hailing from Nuwakot Sitaula was also the immediate past president of the Film Journalist Association.
