A youth accompanying Senior Leader of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Balen Shah on a visit to Far West has been airlifted to Kathmandu after falling ill in Achham.
Dinesh Sitaula of Nuwakot, 43, suddenly collapsed around 9:45 Friday morning while traveling with Shah. He is also the immediate past president of the Film Journalists Association.
According to Chief of Achham Police DSP Om Prasad Khanal, Sitaula suddenly collapsed and lost consciousness while getting out of a vehicle this morning. DSP Khanal stated that there are no visible injuries on Sitaula.
"Looking at the situation, it appeared to me like a heart attack," DSP Khanal said. "After receiving treatment at the Achham District Hospital, the patient was sent to Kathmandu via helicopter for further treatment."
A Nepal Army helicopter was used to rescue Sitaula and transport him to Kathmandu, according to the police.
Shah had arrived in Far West province with a team for the first time just a few days ago for election campaigning.
