The United States has deported an additional 80 Nepali citizens.
Eighty Nepalis were returned to the Tribhuvan International Airport at around 5:30 Tuesday afternoon.
Among them is one woman, according to Chief of the Anti-Human Trafficking Bureau Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Krishna Pangeni.
Following their return, the police have initiated an investigation. Preliminary investigations revealed that most of those returned had used the illegal channels to enter America.
One individual had gone on a student visa. However, it was found that the others had paid amounts exceeding Rs 10 million. Some have claimed that they spent as much as Rs 14 million.
In the last seven years, more than 700 Nepali citizens have been deported. The majority of them were deported after Donald Trump was elected the US president.
