Five people have died on the spot in a bus accident in Dharan.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Bhishan Babu Rai, chief of Dharan Police, although it was a school bus, there were no students on board at the time of the incident.
The accident occurred in the Zero Point area of Dharan Ward No. 13 on Sunday. The school bus (registration number Ko 1 Kha 7119), which was heading toward Dharan from Bhedetar, reportedly lost control near Zero Point and crashed.
The bus rammed into a pharmacy named New Shaba Medical located at the roadside, causing damage to the pharmacy as well.
The Area Police Office, Dharan, stated that it is not yet clear whether the deceased were passengers inside the bus or pedestrians or people outside.
According to the police, the cause of the accident is still unknown. Further information is being gathered, and a detailed report is expected to follow.
