Transparency International Nepal has suspended Attorney General Sabita Bhandari from its membership.

The executive committee of Transparency International Nepal suspended Bhandari, removing her even from the position of a general member.

A member of Transparency International Nepal said that the decision was made after she became embroiled in controversy.

“She was suspended because she holds a public office and questions had begun to be raised about her. Her position has been immediately put on hold,” the member said.

Attorney General Bhandari was a general member of Transparency International Nepal.
