Two months after the arson attack at the Supreme Court, all types of services have now resumed.
A full bench meeting held on November 6 had decided to resume all types of services and begin hearings from Monday.
Earlier, the Supreme Court had only been registering cases and writ petitions. Starting Monday, the retrieval and verification of destroyed case files have also begun.
Employees are providing services directly from the Supreme Court premises to resume long-halted services.
According to Supreme Court Deputy Registrar Nirajan Pandey, staff members arrived at the court from 7 a.m. on Monday to manage the services.
“A lot of service-seekers were expected to come today, so we asked staff members to come early,” he said. “All staff members are working from within the premises today. We have also assigned separate volunteers to assist confused service-seekers.”
He said that efforts have been made to improve the court in line with the changing circumstances.
