Raju Gorkhali arrested from Chandragiri

Rajendra Bahadur Gorkhali, also known as Raju Gorkhali, has been arrested from Chandragiri in Kathmandu.

Superintendent of Police Apil Raj Bohara, spokesperson for the District Police Range, Kathmandu, said that Gorkhali was arrested on Sunday.

"A special team arrested him from the Chandragiri area," Bohara told Setopati.

Gorkhali was arrested for investigation into banking offenses, Bohara added.

"It's a case from some time ago, and he has been arrested for investigation related to it," Bohara said, adding that the investigation against Gorkhali is ongoing.

Gorkhali had been recommended as a Nepali Congress candidate for Sindhupalchowk Constituency No. 2 in the 2022 House of Representatives election. However, he did not get the ticket.

Earlier, a joint team from Kathmandu Police and the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office had conducted a special operation and arrested 47 individuals, including Milan Gurung, aka Chakre Milan.

Cases have now been filed against 19 of those arrested.
