Ashok KC of Bhairahawa, who had been absconding after embezzling savings from a cooperative, has been arrested after three months.
KC was the chairman of Margadarshan Multipurpose Cooperative located in Maitri Path, Siddharthanagar Municipality-5.
KC is accused of embezzling over Rs 59 million belonging to the cooperative's depositors.
He had been on the run since May 3.
According to police, KC was arrested from Gatthaghar, Madhyapur Thimi Municipality-3, in coordination with the Thimi Police Circle, Bhaktapur.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Ganesh Sapkota, information officer of the District Police Office, Rupandehi, said that KC was presented before the Rupandehi District Court on Wednesday.
