Sixteen people from the same house have gone missing in Sindhuli.
A family of 16 members from Bageshwar in Ward No. 6 of Golanjor Rural Municipality, Sindhuli, has lost contact entirely.
Ward Chairman Rabin Shrestha shared the information through a social media post.
He said that all family members have gone missing, leaving only their livestock behind in the house.
The District Police Office, Sindhuli, said that they are looking into the matter. "We are investigating the issue, and police personnel have been dispatched," Deputy Superintendent of Police Anil Khadka told Setopati.
Locals reported that the family has been out of contact since Sunday.
According to Ward Secretary Gayatri Bhandari, villagers suspect that the family may have disappeared due to heavy debt. However, the exact reason has not been confirmed yet.
"Villagers speculate that the family might have relocated due to excessive debt," she said.
Meanwhile, during the search operation that began on Monday morning, the family’s location from three days ago was found to be between wards 8 and 9 of Ramechhap Municipality.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Bhola Bhatta from the District Police Office, Ramechhap, confirmed that their location was detected in Ramechhap on Friday.
"After their location was traced to Ramechhap, our team has been deployed," he said.
The family had not been seen in the village for the past 3-4 days.
