A Chinese national has been arrested in Kathmandu with nearly Rs 15 million from undisclosed sources.
Police apprehended the Chinese national on Monday along with unaccounted-for cash worth Rs 14.4 million from a house at Naya Basti, Bauddha, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-6.
According to Superintendent of Police Apil Raj Bohara, spokesperson for the District Police Range, Kathmandu, the arrested individual is a man named Wang Jian, estimated to be around 40 years old.
A police team was mobilized from the local police circle after receiving information about illegal money dealings taking place in a rented room at Naya Basti.
SP Bohara said that the police found the unverified cash during their search.
He stated that further investigation into the matter was underway.
