Contractor Manoj Bhetwal has been admitted to a hospital shortly after his arrest.
Bhetwal was arrested on Friday in a banking offense case. He was admitted to HAMS Hospital by the police that same night.
Police had initially taken Bhetwal to Bir Hospital after arresting him. He was later admitted to HAMS Hospital, according to Superintendent of Police Apil Raj Bohara at the District Police Range, Kathmandu.
“He was said to have asthma. We had initially taken him to Bir Hospital. From there, he was taken to HAMS,” Bohara said.
The hospital has confirmed that Bhetwal was admitted on Friday, adding that he was being treated in Cabin No. 812.
Contractor Bhetwal was arrested on Friday morning, but SP Bohara and other officials kept his arrest confidential.
It was only late at night that SP Bohara issued a press release confirming the arrest.
SP Bohara added that preparations were underway to seek an extension of Bhetwal’s custody from the Kathmandu District Court on Sunday for further investigation.
