The Sindhupalchowk administration has urged residents to remain vigilant in riverbank areas, including the Bhotekoshi, until June 21.
The warning comes after Chinese authorities informed Nepal that the water flow in the Bhotekoshi River could increase as there was possibility of heavy rainfall in Tibet from June 17 to June 21.
Based on this information, Assistant Chief District Officer Ganesh Nepali has urged residents in the riverbank areas to exercise caution.
"As the areas around the Bhotekoshi and Sunkoshi rivers (including Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality, Bahrabise Municipality, Tripurasundari Rural Municipality, Sunkoshi Rural Municipality, Balephi Rural Municipality, and Chautara Sanga Chowk Gadhi Municipality) could be at risk, residents living in areas near these rivers are requested to remain vigilant," said the notice issued by Nepali.
