One more person has been arrested in connection with the alleged embezzlement of over Rs 2.5 billion at Karnali Development Bank.
The arrested individual is 41-year-old Dev Prakash Singh Thakuri, a resident of Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City-19.
A team from the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police arrested him on June 4.
Superintendent of Police Yuvaraj Khadka, spokesperson for the CIB, said that Thakuri was arrested as he was found to be involved in the embezzlement of the bank's funds.
The then-chief executive officer of the bank, 65-year-old Rajendra Bir Raya, has already been arrested in connection with the alleged embezzlement.
"So far, two people have been arrested in this case," Khadka said, adding, "The investigation is ongoing."
