The flyover at Gwarko is being blacktopped.
The blacktopping work began on May 22 after the construction of necessary structures was completed.
The target was to prepare the flyover for operation by mid-June.
However, the work may take a bit longer as it was occasionally interrupted by rainfall, according to Senior Divisional Engineer Pradeep Bhandari, information officer at the Quality Research and Development Center under the Department of Roads.
"It may take a few days into Ashadh. If the rain hadn't disrupted the work, it could have been completed sooner," he said.
According to Bhandari, blacktopping and painting work is currently underway.
On the Koteshwar side, blacktopping has been completed and painting work is ongoing. However, on the Satdobato section, blacktopping work is still being carried out, he said.
The 455-meter-long flyover will have a ground clearance of 6 meters. Additionally, ramps of 180-meter length on the right and 110 meters on the left will be constructed for vehicles to access the flyover.
The construction of the flyover is being carried out by Ashish-Samanantar JV.
