Three people died and two others were injured when a vehicle of Nepal Telecom met with an accident in Bajura district on Tuesday, according to police.
The vehicle (registration number Ba 5 Cha 2209) met with an accident in Jagannath Rural Municipality-2 at around 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday when it was on the way from Martadi for maintenance work at a telecom tower.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Iqbal Hawari from the District Police Office, Bajura, reported that the vehicle was carrying five passengers and three of them died at the scene.
The deceased have been identified as 48-year-old Lok Bahadur Khadka from Taranagar, Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City-5, Kailali; 35-year-old Rabindra Dhami from Badimalika Municipality-7, Bajura; and 57-year-old Karan Singh Mahatara from Krishnapur Municipality-2, Kanchanpur.
Khadka was working as a technical assistant officer at Nepal Telecom in Martadi, while Dhami was a security guard at Nepal Telecom’s office in Kalajagra of Bajura, DSP Hawari said.
Mahatara was a driver at Nepal Telecom’s provincial directorate in Attariya, as revealed by the police investigation.
The injured, Nandaram Tiruwa and Lokendra Tiruwa, have been sent to Kolti for treatment, DSP Hawari added.
