The body of Sudeep Neupane, who was killed in a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, India, has been brought to his home in Kalika Nagar, Butwal Sub-metropolitan City-11.
Neupane, who had gone on vacation to Kashmir with his mother, sister, and brother-in-law, was killed in a terrorist attack in Pahalgam on Tuesday.
His body was transported from Srinagar to New Delhi by air at 5 PM on Wednesday, and then from New Delhi to Lucknow at 9:30 PM. From Lucknow, his body was brought to Sunauli on the Nepal-India border and then to his home in a Nepali ambulance on Thursday morning.
A District Magistrate (DM) from a district in Uttar Pradesh, India, traveled from Lucknow to Sunauli with Neupane's body and his relatives. Neupane's uncle, Dadhiram Neupane, who is also the ward chairman of Butwal-14, and other family members had reached Sunauli to receive his body.
Butwal’s Mayor Khelraj Pandey, Rupandehi’s Chief District Officer Basudev Ghimire, and district police chief Ranjit Singh Rathore, along with a security team, escorted the body from Sunauli to Neupane's home in Butwal, said police chief Rathore.
Currently, Neupane's home at Manakamana Path, Kalika Nagar, Butwal, is filled with grieving relatives and locals.
Ram Chandra Chhetri, ward chairman of Butwal-11, said that Neupane's body will be cremated at Triveni Ghat on Thursday.
