The Supreme Court (SC) has issued an interim order instructing the government to drop those walking to home from Kathmandu and other cities to their destination.
Hearing a writ petition filed by senior advocate Prakash Mani Sharma and a few others, a joint bench of Justice Ananda Mohan Bhattarai and Justice Sapana Pradhan Malla on Friday has instructed the government to ferry them free of cost.
"It is the primary duty of the state to safely drop those who have already left cities including Kathmandu in compulsion and lack of alternatives," the interim order states.
The Apex Court has ordered the government to ferry them free of cost by doing their rapid diagnostic tests and taking all necessary precautions in a way that they are assured of the government's works. It has asked the government to send persons suspected of infection after tests to quarantine and isolation.
