Cleanliness drive in and around the Janakpur Temple named 'Chief Minister Cleanliness Campaign' has kicked off from Thursday.
Under the campaign initiated by the Province No 2 government, the beautification of ancient Janaki Temple will take place with the estimated cost of Rs 70 million in the first phase.
Chief Minister of Province No 2 Lal Bahadur Raut flagged off the campaign, expressing his confidence that with the beautification process of the Janaki Temple, millions of tourists would be attracted contributing to the economic prosperity of the country.
The famous Hindu temple in Janakpur, Janaki Temple, will be decorated in a modern style yet keeping intact its aesthetic values and decked up with lights in a bid to add more value to this important temple built in 1901.
Fera R J Constructions has been granted the contract for the same and it is expected to complete the project within the current fiscal year.
CM Raut spoke of the need to make efforts to enlist the three-story Temple in the UN World Heritage Site and promote it as a religious tourist spot across the globe.
He also pledged to expedite the development progress in the Province No 2 with this Campaign.
On the occasion, Janaki Temple deputy priest Mahanta Roshan Das hailed the effort of provincial government for paying attention to preserve and promote the Temple that, he commented, was overlooked by the authorities in the past.
