An implementation of the offerings management guidelines issued by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation is yet to come into force after two years of its issuing.
The guideline was prepared aiming at managing the offerings either in cash or kind offered by devotees at religious places including temple, monastery and church.
According to the provision, the guidelines would be effective in such shrines where over 50 pilgrims daily or 20,000 pilgrims annually visit there.
The guidelines was issued on October 18, 2016 but it is yet to be implemented in various places. However, such guidelines were found implemented in Pashupatinath Temple (before issuing guideline) and Kalika Temple of Baglung, most of the pilgrimages are yet to introduce this system.
The Pashupatinath temple, so far, has deposited Rs 180 million in its Trust account. The amount was collected only from donation boxes and was deposited after deducting the expenses.
